Chat with the AI assistant directly via Telegram.

Telegram Integration

With the Telegram integration, you can chat with the AI assistant directly through the Telegram messenger. Ask questions, create invoices, or have project data displayed -- all without opening dVersum in the browser.

Prerequisites

Before you can use the Telegram integration, you need:

Why BYOK? The Telegram integration uses your own API key for AI communication. Without a configured key, you will receive a message prompting you to set one up.

Setup (Pairing)

Step 1: Generate Pairing Code

  1. Go to Settings > Telegram
  2. Click on Connect with Telegram
  3. A 6-digit pairing code is displayed
  4. The code is time-limited -- use it within a few minutes

Step 2: Open Bot in Telegram

  1. Open Telegram
  2. Search for the dVersum bot (the exact bot name is displayed on the settings page)
  3. Start a chat with the bot

Step 3: Send Code

  1. Send the 6-digit code as a message to the bot
  2. The bot confirms the connection
  3. The connection is automatically detected in dVersum

The settings page will then show the status Connected along with your Telegram username.

Bot Commands

The following commands are available in the Telegram chat:

Feature Set

The Telegram bot offers the same feature set as the AI assistant in the app:

  • Query data: Invoices, clients, projects, tasks, time entries
  • Create data: Invoices, clients, projects, tasks, time entries, calendar events
  • Analytics: Revenue overviews, project statistics, open items
  • Dunning: Create and send payment reminders
  • Absences: Manage vacation and other absences
  • Calendar: Create events (with attendees, Google Meet, location)

All 53 tools of the AI assistant are available in total.

Conversations

  • Telegram conversations are separate from in-app conversations
  • Context is maintained within a Telegram conversation
  • Use /new to start a new conversation and reset the context

Disconnecting

In dVersum

  1. Go to Settings > Telegram
  2. Click on Disconnect
  3. Confirm the disconnection

In Telegram

Alternatively, you can send /disconnect directly in the chat.

After disconnecting:

  • The bot will no longer respond to your messages
  • You can reconnect at any time (new pairing code)

Limitations

  • One account per user: Each dVersum user can link exactly one Telegram account
  • No file sending: The bot currently only processes text messages
  • BYOK required: Usage is not possible without your own API key

Tips for Usage

  1. Use on the go -- Ideal for quick queries when you are not at your computer
  2. Start new conversations -- Use /new when changing topics to keep the context clean
  3. Natural language -- Write to the bot like a colleague, e.g., "How much revenue did we have in January?"
  4. Create tasks -- Capture spontaneous tasks via Telegram before you forget them
  5. Log time entries -- "Log 2 hours for project X" also works via Telegram
