Tools (Mini-Apps)

The Tools page offers 10 practical mini-apps right inside dVersum. All calculations run locally in your browser -- fast, secure, and without external dependencies.

Overview

The tools are divided into two categories:

Each tool opens in a modal overlay and can be used immediately.

Integrated Tools

These tools access your existing data in dVersum and deliver particularly relevant results.

Meeting Cost Calculator

Calculates the cost of a meeting based on participants and their hourly rates.

How it works:

1. Open the Meeting Cost Calculator
2. Select the participants from your team
3. Enter the duration of the meeting
4. The costs are calculated based on the stored hourly rates

Example use case: Before the next stand-up, check whether a one-hour meeting with 8 participants is really necessary.

Project Profitability

Shows the profitability of your projects (revenue vs. costs).

How it works:

1. Open Project Profitability
2. Select a project
3. See at a glance: revenue, costs, profit, and margin

Example use case: Identify projects that cost more than they bring in and adjust your pricing.

Payment Due Calculator

Calculates payment deadlines and cash discount periods for invoices.

How it works:

1. Open the Payment Due Calculator
2. Enter the invoice date
3. Choose the payment term (e.g., 30 days)
4. Optional: Configure cash discount (e.g., 2% if paid within 10 days)
5. The tool displays all relevant dates

Standalone Tools

These tools work independently and do not require any data from dVersum.

VAT Calculator

Calculates value-added tax with German tax rates.

• Tax rates: 19% (standard rate) and 7% (reduced rate)
• Conversion: Net to gross and gross to net
• Enter an amount and instantly see net, VAT, and gross

IBAN Validator

Checks and formats IBAN numbers.

• Validation: Checks the correct structure and check digit
• Formatting: Displays the IBAN in a readable grouping (DE12 3456 7890 1234 5678 90)
• Country detection: Identifies the country from the country code

QR Code Generator

Creates QR codes for various content types.

• Text: Any text as a QR code
• URLs: Make website links scannable
• Contact data: vCard information
• The generated QR code can be downloaded as an image

Password Generator

Creates secure passwords with configurable options.

• Length: Freely adjustable
• Options: Uppercase, lowercase, numbers, special characters
• Strength indicator: Visual feedback on password strength
• Copy: One click copies the password to the clipboard

Public Holiday Calendar

Shows public holidays by federal state.

• Select state: All 16 German federal states available
• Annual overview: All holidays for the selected year
• Regional: Takes into account state-specific holidays (e.g., Corpus Christi, Reformation Day)

Euro Calculator

Currency conversion with current exchange rates.

• Conversion between Euro and other currencies
• Common currency pairs (USD, GBP, CHF, etc.)
• Quick conversion in both directions

Text Analysis

Analyzes texts and provides useful metrics.

• Word count: Total number of words
• Character count: With and without spaces
• Reading time: Estimated reading duration based on average reading speed

Tips for Usage

1. Quick access -- The Tools page is always accessible from the sidebar
2. Privacy -- All calculations run locally in your browser; no data leaves your device
3. Check meeting costs -- Use the Meeting Cost Calculator before sending invitations to keep costs in check
4. Validate IBANs -- Check client IBANs before invoicing to avoid chargebacks
5. Generate passwords -- Use the generator for secure passwords instead of making up your own
